A HUGE thank you… Hubbub wouldn’t be the same without you

posted in Hubbub 07 |

Hubbub 07 ended at 1755 hours, 45 minutes over the schedule. I would like to thank everyone who stayed till the end. Unfortunately, I know some of the enthusiasts had to leave early, or at 5pm, as scheduled due prior appointments. If you are one of those who couldn’t stay till the end, I would still like to thank you for coming down. Thank you to all enthusiasts for choosing to spend your Saturday afternoon and evening with us. I hope you had as much fun as we had organizing Hubbub for you!

Thank you to all the speakers who supported us in the event. All of them specially made time to give a speech at Hubbub specially into their hectic schedule, with some arriving just before their speech was scheduled. For the short notice we gave you all, you cannot imagine how grateful and happy we were to have you there.

Thank you to Henrik Ahlen for supporting us as Hubbub’s moderator. You were great and it was fantastic working with you! For the really really really (and I can’t emphasize how much) short notice you had especially. Actually come to think about it, you really had a lot of improvisation to do, and had very little time to do everything. Although everything on the surface looked very fine and dandy, I am one of few who knew you had to rush your lunch because it came late, only got hold of the revised schedule a few hours before the event, and had to work around a lot of other issues like timing and so forth.

A huge thank you to our sponsors and partners, without which the whole of nuStart, who was determined to keep this a free event, would be out sleeping on the streets rights right now, counting the pennies we would have earned from singing and dancing, or something like that.

Thank you to all the bloggers who helped us promote the event, and all live bloggers, and backchannel participants for contributing to our event’s publicity and success. Thank you for making the event fun for all!

Thank you to the people whom I had direct contact with, to whom I would like to say, “I hope I didn’t bug you too much.” =)

  • Catharina Himmelberg and Jennifer from Hors : for putting up with all my questions and requests.
  • Also, the pretty blonde from Hors, whose name I’ve forgotten (I’m sorry!), who helped me co-ordinate all food and beverage matters on the day of the event itself. You were a fantastic help! Made my life so much easier!
  • The people over at THS:
    • Daniel Nachmens for my repeated phone calls on venue related matters.
    • David Goldea for agreeing to almost meet me at some ungodly hour in the night to settle router problems, and helping me clean up on the day itself.
    • Amanda from Armada for meeting me after office hours, and digging through the mountains of equipment and wires in the basement for everything I needed.
    • The technical team in the control room, Ian and Christian, for all technical co-ordination on the day of the event, and gathering all technical equipment we needed. I’m really sorry you didn’t receive any food during the break! I hope you enjoy our present to you both though. =)

Last but not least, a toast to nuStart! We made a great team! We ate together, drank together, spent countless nights together, got into each others faces, and forwent sleep together. Most importantly, for believing and supporting one another.

Hubbub would not have been the same without you all.
